Demographic and migration crises are some of the major challenges caused by the full-scale invasion. In fact, the Kremlin has sent Ukraine's human capital situation into a steep dive. However, demographic problems are not new for our country, they have been challenging us for a long time now. International Criminal Court Received the Findings of OPORA’s and ICUV’s Joint Study on Forced Migration of Ukrainians Caused by Russian Shelling Attacks
Civil Network OPORA jointly with International Center for Ukrainian Victory and mobile operator “Vodafone Ukraine” conducted a research study on “How the migration of Ukraine’s population was affected by Russian shelling attacks in October 2022 – January 2023”, the results of which were submitted to the International Criminal Court via the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine. The research findings offer illuminating insights into the scope and impact of Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine.

About 20% of Ukrainians Stay Abroad Because of Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion — Study by OPORA
As of June 2023, 8,177 mln citizens of Ukraine stayed abroad. It is about 20% of the country’s population before February 24, 2022. The data comes from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided to the request of Civil Network OPORA. However, there are no precise numbers of Ukrainian migrants abroad because different institutions use different counting methodologies. OPORA analyzed and compared all available data in order to get as accurate indicators as possible.
