Despite the results of early parliamentary elections have already been announced, some interesting facts regarding activities of the votes and high support given to the parties which would be impossible yet four years ago. For example, the fact that Petro Poroshenko received the highest number of votes not in the western Ukraine, but in two districts of Donetsk oblast. At the same time, the Opposition Block has also received the highest number of votes in Donetsk oblast, but in district #57, located in the city of Mariupol. However, the most surprising fact was that the Samopomich Union received the second largest number of votes in district #212 (Darnytskyi district of Kyiv city). You will find below the information about peculiarities of voters' support given to parties than overcame 5% threshold on 2014 parliamentary elections and will get into the Verkhovna Rada of VIII convocation.
The People's Front
Contrary to the results of pre-electoral sociological polls and results of exit-polls, the People's Front party received the largest number of votes in the nationwide district (closed party lists) 22.14%, what was proved by the official voting results, announced by the CEC, and the results of parallel vote tabulation, conducted by the OPORA. This party received the highest support in western and northern oblasts. All districts of Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi oblasts without exemption supported Yatseniuk's team. The party was also highly supported in Cherkasy and Kyiv oblasts, but Kyiv city preferred to vote for the Petro Poroshenko Block.
As for voting results in every district, the People's Front received the largest number of votes in district #125 - 43.93% (centered in the city of Staryi Sambir), and in district #86 - 43.57% (city of Dolyna).
The Petro Poroshenko Block (PPB)
It's not surprising that the Petro Poroshenko Block received the highest support in Vinnytsia oblast, where Petro Poroshenko was nominated and won in 2012 parliamentary elections. It should be mentioned that the PPB has won also in Kherson oblast and in Kyiv city this year. The President's party received high support in Zakarpattia, Sumy, and Khmelnytsk oblasts. In total, 21.81% voters supported the PPB in Ukraine.
It's interesting that the PPB received the largest number of votes in Donetsk oblast – district #45 - 57.68% (the DEC was relocated from Donetsk to Sloviansk), and #53 - 44.13% (city of Krasnoarmiisk)
If we compare the level of support the President got when he was elected in May and percentage of votes given for his Block in these parliamentary elections, we'll see that the electorate of western Ukraine supports Poroshenko less, but he still holds the position in the central Ukraine. We'd like to remind that in the presidential election Poroshenko received the highest support in Lviv oblast (69.90%), Vinnytsia oblast (67.32%), and Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (65.13%).
The Samopomich Union
The Samopomich Union took the third place in top of leaders, with 10.97% result. It received the biggest number of votes in Kyiv city (21.39%) and its native Lviv oblast (18.78%). However, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Volyn, Ternopil, and Rivne oblast have also highly supported the Samopomich.
Party received the largest number of votes in district #121 - 25.43% (city of Drohobych), and #212 - 24.02% (Darnytskyi district of Kyiv city).
The Opposition Block
The Opposition Block party received 9.43% of votes in parliamentary elections. The map of voting results shows that the party received the highest support in eastern and northern Ukraine. The best results gave Donetsk oblasts (38.69%), Luhansk oblast (36.59%), and Kharkiv oblast (32.16%). Besides that, the Party has won in all districts of Luhansk and Kharkiv oblasts.
As for single-member districts, the Opposition Block received the best result in ED #57 - 61.09% (centered in Mariupol). This percentage is the highest among all the parties in single-member districts. The voting results in district #112 (city of Rubizhne) are close to ED #57 – 59.09%.
The Radical Party of Oleh Liashko
The Radical Party of Oleh Liashko is traditionally popular in Chernihiv oblast. District #208 (city of Bakhmach) is the only district where this party managed to gain the victory (23.98%). The party received 7.44% of votes in total.
The support of party in these parliamentary elections do correlate with the support of its leader in 2014 presidential election.
AUU Batkivshchyna
The Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Union has overcame the electoral threshold with the result of 5.68% We can see on the map that the level of support is quite uniform with the exception of eastern oblasts. Batkivshchyna received the highest level of support in central Ukraine – Kirovohrad (8.34%) and Khmelnytsk (7.65%) oblasts. Volyn, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv oblasts also gave the party around 7.5%.
Such territorial support is similar to the results of voting for Tymoshenko in presidential election held on 25 May. The party received the best result in election district #100 - 9.90% (city of Bobrynets, Kirovohrad oblast).
