A new MP was elected in Sevastopol – multimillionaire Vadym Novynskyi. We will consider the Election Day in Sevastopol in this part of Dear Deputies.

Incompetence of electoral commission members in District #224 (Sevastopol city) and control over the voters resulted in election of a new MP, who was completely unknown 2 months before.

The CEC has registered a record low turnout – 23.91%

Among peculiarities of voting in Sevastopol, was presence of employees of the State Emergency Service (SES), which counted voters. OPORA's representatives have requested explanations of such activities conducted by the SES in an appeal. However, the SES answered that it was regular job of rescuers on duty, which were called to prevent emergencies in crowded places.

Oleksandr Chupakhin, member of the CEC who controlled the election process in Sevastopol: "I wouldn't say that the presence of SES employees on polling stations is a violation."

Olha Aivazovska, Electoral and Parliamentary Programs Coordinator of the Civil Network OPORA: The Law of Ukraine on Elections of People's Deputies of Ukraine clearly determines the list of persons which have the right to be present at the polling station. Employees of the SES, as well as of law-enforcement, namely policemen, are not in the list."

Vadym Novynskyi has received 53.41% votes. Vasyl Parkhomenko from the CPU is on the second place (32.19%). Vasyl Zelenchuk, self-nominated, is on the third (6.42%).
