On 12 April, individuals, who presented themselves as representatives of the organization “Civil movement “OPORA””, held a rally in front of Dnipro City Council. They used symbols and name that is similar to a shortened name of the Civil Network OPORA.

OPORA believes such actions are goaled deliberately mislead the citizens in political activities, which by no means are related to the organization, and are harmful for its business reputation as an independent organization.

Civil Network “OPORA” is a non-governmental, non-political and financially independent all-Ukrainian network of activists. We united to enhance public participation in the political process by developing and implementing models of citizen participation in the activities of state and local governments. We work for the development of civil society in Ukraine as a foundation of sovereign, independent, democratic, social, and law-governed country.

Civil Network OPORA secures openness and transparency of state authorities and local self-government bodies in Ukraine, assists social groups and local communities in their development and helps them unite in a nationwide Ukrainian network for cooperation and communication, develops and introduces innovative training systems for civic activists.
